Pod Squad | Harmony Kingdom Beluga Whales

The Beluga whale’s odd form is what attracted Peter to this animal. To him, they look like ghostly white dolphins with lumps on their heads. This box figurine shows a pod of nine, with a mouse and canary hidden among them. 19th century whalers nicknamed them "sea canarys" because of their vocal dexterity.

• The interior portrays a crooning whale and a ubiquitous Coke can appears on the base as a symbol for man’s pollution - ironically, Belugas are no longer killed for their meat because they contain such high levels of pollution.
