Over a few years David Lawrence had learned to “play” (he used this term loosely) the violin, along with his daughter Rose. Mrs. Benison, the village fiddle teacher, is referenced as “Mrs. B” on the interior. The “Grade 2” book that Rose is now studying also appears.
The stickers on the case of this box figurine are from places David visited in 2002 – apart from Paris, where he never quite got for his 20th wedding anniversary. “Fiddlin’ Folk” is a children’s violin group, run by Mrs. Benison, that plays in church concerts and village fetes throughout the year.
As with any hand-tinted product, unique variations should be expected.
